Services Performed
- Communication/Notes:
- No labor charged for complimentary inspection. Vehicle is past due for a service. Driver side foglight is missing entirely. TPMS light is flashing. Vehicle also needs rear tires. Recommend to have the sensors replaced during tire replacement. Front brakes measure at 4MM. Will need to be replaced in the near future. Vehicle has a vibration and noise near the center console area. Most of the times with the noise and vibration being near the center console end up being a collapsed transmission mount which is very common on this generation Mercedes.
- Found 2 areas where oil is leaking. One area is the oil filter housing and oil cooler. EAH replaced the gasket for the filter housing and oil cooler back in 2019 roughly 40k miles ago. The second area is the crankcase oil breather cover located on the backside of the bank 1 (passenger side) cylinder head. The breather cover is very common to leak and leak onto the exhaust manifold/catalytic converter. Since the oil filter housing was resealed back in 2019 there is a chance the housing is slightly warped and is recommend to replace the housing. There may be more leaks on the bottom side of the engine, but to know for sure everything up top leaking down will need to be repaired, cleaned off and dye added into the oil for a future inspection.
- Includes oil change as the vehicle is past due for one. Also includes air filters.
- Performed diagnostic and found four faults in the ECM. *MB DTC 0521 Diagnosis of Tumble Flap 'Intake Manifold': Short circuit to ground of sensor lines/Tumble flap shafts stick in the actuated position. (P2004) – There is a hesitation/shimmy when accelerating. Faulty flaps are most likely the root cause. Recommend to replace intake manifold. *MB DTC 0750 Self-Adapatation of mixture formation for enleanment at idle for the left cylinder bank is below the permissible limit. (P0175) *MB DTC 1599 Plausibility error between signal of temperature sensor in intake pipe and signal of outside temperature sensor (P0071) – The vehicle reads at -36 degrees outside currently. The ambient temp sensor has been disintegrated from rubbing on the ground while driving. The sensor and connector will need to be replaced. *MB DTC 2096 The mixture in the left cylinder bank is too rich when idling – The engine air filters are very dirty and there is a bunch of debris in the air box which can and will cause a blockage of airflow going into the engine causing a too rich fault and or a mixture control for enleanment fault. Recommend and replaced air filters.
